Case-Study: North Burnett Regional Council
The Brief
With the amalgamation of the 6 councils NBRC were looking for a solution to provide security, accountability, with the convenience and flexibility of the traditional master-key system without the risk of lost high level keys requiring a major rekey of the areas involved, our solution was vetted through a proposal and tender system, which was selected as the solution best suited to the council’s requirements and budget.
Our Approach
Once our proposal was selected, we designed the Salto system with the flexibility required for expansion and the areas the council had allocated to be covered by this system allocated the access groups and zones to allow the individual users access to 1 door, 1 or several groups up to the entire system providing full audit trail and the accountability the council required. To manage the budget constraints we integrated some mechanical locks into the network with the mechanical key being held behind the electronic locking, thus still providing the audit trail required.
The Results
Active Security have provided the solution for the 600+ access points across the Region, with the flexibility and accountability the council required, this includes Community halls, sporting facilities, Gyms, and fitness centres along with the majority of council assets and infrastructure in a secure environment.
